Oct. 07, 2022
It's not often that the mainstream world of sports shines the spotlight on chess, but allegations of a cheating scandal centered around sex toys have turned this into one of the most bizarre sports scandals in recent memory.
On Sept. 19, Norwegian World No. 1 chess champion Magnus Carlsen unexpectedly resigned while playing against American Hans Niemann in the sixth round of the Julius Baer Generation Cup, and accused him of cheating. And the speculation didn't die down. A strange cheating rumor began spreading even Tesla CEO Elon Musk got involved when a Reddit post suggested that Niemann could have used a sex toy to cheat.
Now, the Nordic contraception and pleasure brand RFSU is getting into the game through an activation where the butt plug is freed from all the cheating accusations.

Anette Otterström, Nordic communication & brand manager at RFSU AB said:
"Finally, sex toys get their well-deserved time in the spotlight. However, we want to nuance the cheating accusations, since sex toys are incredible shortcuts to get people on top of their game in bed."
The campaign was developed together with the creative agency Valtech Radon and is activated outdoors and in social media in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark.
