Yonder Launches Armflex Wrist Support for Shoppers Feeling the Strain

Sep. 03, 2026

Yonder, the rewards card accepted pretty much everywhere, today announced the launch of its ArmFlex Wrist Support, a wearable device designed to help shoppers manage the strain of repeated attempts to pay with a card that isn’t accepted.

The launch is backed by new Yonder research into the everyday impact of card non-acceptance in the UK. Among the findings from a survey of 1,000 UK Amex cardholders:

  • 70% of Amex cardholders say their card has been declined at least once in the past month
  • The most common settings for a decline were independent cafés/restaurants (59%), small retailers (51%), taxis/transport (22%) and hotels (13%)
  • 44% described the experience as "frustrating", 40% said they felt ‘embarrassed’, and 38% said it made them feel ‘annoyed’ about using the card again in public
  • 60% said this experience has made them think differently about which card they use day-to-day

Tim Chong, CEO and co-founder at Yonder said:

"Many small businesses in the UK are unable to accept some cards because of the cost that’s passed down to them. We hear from cardholders all the time about how this friction affects them, especially at independent places. Sadly we can’t fix that for every card out there, so we made the ArmFlex to show our support for those customers instead."

The ArmFlex Wrist Support features reinforced thumb padding and a shock-absorbent strap, engineered to cushion every attempt to pay with a card that isn't accepted.
