Time's Up

Safe, fair, and dignified work for women of all kinds.

We insist upon a world where everyone is safe and respected at work. A world where women have an equal shot at success and security. A world where no one lives in fear of sexual harassment or assault.

By helping change culture, companies, and laws, TIME’S UP Now aims to create a society free of gender-based discrimination in the workplace and beyond. We want every person — across race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, gender identity, and income level — to be safe on the job and have equal opportunity for economic success and security. TIME’S UP Now is an independent, nonpartisan, and not-for-profit 501(c)(4) charitable organization.

Our Story

TIME’S UP was born when women said “enough is enough.”

Enough to sexual favors in exchange for work. Enough to being paid less than we deserve. Enough to feeling unsafe and disempowered where we work.

TIME’S UP insists upon a world where work is safe, fair, and dignified for women of all kinds.

Founded by more than 300 women in entertainment, TIME’S UP’s message quickly resonated with alliances and individuals across all industries, worldwide. These founders got right to work, tackling pressing gender equity issues in various industries from Los Angeles to New York to the United Kingdom.

In January 2018, we launched the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund™. Supported by the TIME’S UP Foundation and housed and administered by the National Women’s Law Center Fund, LLC, we created the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund to help survivors of sexual harassment and retaliation, especially low-income women and people of color, achieve justice. There are more than 700 attorneys in the network taking on cases and helping people understand their rights at work. Since launching, thousands of people have been connected to legal and public relations resources.

While the Fund protects working people when sexual harassment and abuse occurs, TIME’S UP Now works to prevent sexual harassment and related forms of discrimination in the first place. We get at the root causes of harassment and discrimination by fighting for gender equity at every level of society — because we know that women will only be safe at work when they’re equal at work. TIME’S UP has 25 full-time staff made up of advocates and communicators, attorneys and fundraisers, as well as a committed group of volunteer leaders.

Our work is bold, diverse, and solutions-oriented. Governments, businesses, and individuals all benefit from a world free from violence, discrimination, and barriers that hold women back. By working together, we can increase women’s power and influence and ensure everyone has an equal chance to succeed at work.

Time is up on the past. It’s time to build our future.
