Burger King Uses ChatGPT to Poke at the Competitor
Jun. 08, 2023
Burger King has just launched a new out-of-home (OOH) campaign in various locations across the city of Sao Paulo. In a creative and coordinated effort by the DAVID Sao Paulo agency, the pieces of the new BK campaign were placed right next to the installations of their competitor.
A few days prior, the competing brand had launched their own OOH pieces responding to the question, "what is the most iconic burger in the world?" The answer was provided by an artificial intelligence tool called ChatGPT, which claimed to be the competing chain's #1 sandwich.
Very quickly, as Burger King always does, the brand promptly asked ChatGPT: "And which one is the biggest?"
The answer could only be one, of course: WHOPPER. Additionally, the tool emphasized all the qualities of Burger King’s famous sandwich.
This action highlighted the agility and creativity of the agency's creative and media teams, and the client team.

What is the most iconic burger in the world?
The most iconic burger in the world is probably the Big Mac, from the fast-food chain McDonald's. The Big Mac was created in 1967 by Jim Delligatti, a McDonald's franchise owner in the United States, and quickly became a popular menu item around the world. The burger consists of two meat patties, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions and the famous special sauce, all served on a sesame bun with an extra layer of bread in the middle. The Big Mac is often used as a symbol of globalization and fast-food culture.

And which one is the biggest?
Burger King's Whopper is the largest in terms of size and amount of ingredients. The burger is known for its generous size, and consists of a flame-grilled beef patty, sesame seed bun, cheese, tomato, pickles, onion, mayonnaise, and ketchup. It is considered a robust and satisfying burger, being that is an option for those who want a more substantial meal. However, it is important to note that the size and number of ingredients may vary by country or region.
