Oct. 06, 2022
Expedia®, one of the world’s leading online travel apps, just launched season four of its “Out Travel the System” podcast. Hosted by Nisreene Atassi, Global Head of Social Media and Influencer Engagement for Expedia Group, and featuring travel experts and industry insiders, “Out Travel the System” features compelling storytelling, tips, information, and travel inspiration. In season 4, which will comprise of 15 episodes released weekly, audiences will hear stories of a decade-long honeymoon, big adventures in small towns, and how the urge to travel might even be deeply human, thanks to the ‘wanderlust gene.’ The season will also break down travel stereotypes and raise awareness of how much there is to see and experience around the world.
New this season, Expedia partnered with the award-winning creative studio Sonic Union and public media organization PRX to bring the podcast to listeners everywhere, free on-demand. “Out Travel the System” is available on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Spotify, Pocket Casts, and across all major podcast listening platforms.
Host Nisreene Atassi said:
"As travel returns in a post-pandemic world, I'm so excited to be bringing ‘Out Travel the System’ back to our listeners with even more tips and hacks to help them ease back into traveling. So much has shifted over the last two years, and providing our travelers with new ways to navigate an already complex industry is why we launched the show more than three years ago and we’re eager to continue helping travelers with inspirational, informative, and entertaining stories."
Halle Petro, Executive Creative Director at Sonic Union, producer of season 4 of "Out Travel the System" said:
“I feel lucky we get to collaborate with PRX and an international travel brand like Expedia. With this project we were able to bring together everything we love about audio storytelling: editorial, narrative portrait, music, with a complete team effort in support of Expedia’s goals for the new seasons. It’s a collective effort from our entire team, and particularly sound designer and mixer Rob Ballingall, and makes me love what I do even more. Also, it really helped me plan my fall trip to Rome.”
Sonic Union also composed the new theme song for “Out Travel The System,” which kicks off and runs throughout each episode.
Kevin J. Simon, composer for "Out Travel the System" said:
“I love to travel, so one thing that has sustained me during the COVID-19 pandemic were the memories of all the places I’ve been, and imagining what’s next. The track composed for this podcast is titled ‘The Places We Have Yet to See’ because it alludes to just that. I wanted the music to sound global without being a direct mashup of musical cultures.”
Since it launched in 2019, “Out Travel the System” has been featured as a top travel podcast by Lonely Planet, Travel + Leisure and the Washington Post and was a finalist for Best Branded Podcast at The 2021 Shorty Awards.
