Labour Party broadcast shows why the NHS needs Labour

Jan. 19, 2017

The Labour Party last night (Wednesday 18 January) released a party political broadcast challenging the government’s commitment to the NHS. The broadcast is the first work created by London-based advertising agency krow for Labour since it was appointed to represent the party in November last year.
The 3 minute 40 second film aired on BBC and ITV at 18.25 (ITV) and 18.55 (BBC). The film is also on Labour ‘s Facebook page and will appear on the party’s YouTube channel. The film shows an actress playing a Labour-supporting member of the public walking around an empty hospital. She’s voicing her frustration at the Conservative government’s reluctance to provide the struggling NHS with the support and funding that it so obviously needs.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said of the broadcast:

"Despite the pledge of an extra £350 million a week plastered across Boris Johnson’s bus, the government has refused to provide the NHS with the funding it desperately needs.
Theresa May and her government’s priorities are clear: tax giveaways to the wealthiest and big business rather than funding our health service. By 2022, the Conservatives will have handed the wealthiest £70billion in tax cuts - money that could be invested in our NHS.
A Labour government would deliver our NHS the funding it needs. Big business and the banks would pay its fair share of tax, we would clamp down on tax dodgers, and we would ensure that the Brexit negotiations put jobs and living standards in Britain first.”

Krow said of the broadcast:

“This film illustrates Labour’s firm commitment to support the NHS that they created 70 years ago and their promise to protect it in the future.”
